Getting to and around the UW-Platteville Campus
EXPO occurs while classes (except engineering and some science classes) are in
session at UW-Platteville; parking may therefore prove to be a challenge. The information
below should help familiarize you with the campus geography.
Getting to Campus
The UW-Platteville campus is located at the western edge of Platteville. For direction to
get to campus, a simplified
map of Platteville
is available on-line that shows highways and major streets.
Parking
This year we have been assured that parking permits will not be required, thus you are free to
park in any legal parking space. We would suggest the following locations: Lot 7A (off of Jay Street)
for buses and lots 26, 30 and 6 for cars. Note that lots 11 and 25A are used for Expo exhibits and will not be available.
UW-Platteville map showing parking
that shows all parking lots on campus. NOTE: Regulations
regarding parking on the grass, in fire lanes, meters, in pedestrian cross walks, in
handicapped spots, etc., will still be enforced. Do not park in any of
these restricted areas. Also, the City of Platteville will not enforce normal parking time
regulations for on-street parking west of Chestnut street. If you have any questions or
problems please contact us: Email: expo@uwplatt.edu
or
EMS Dean's Office: 608-342-1561 (voice).
Getting around on Campus
The UW-Platteville campus is compact and all facilities are within easy walking distance.
The UW-Platteville map
mentioned above shows all campus buildings as well as parking. This year EXPO has
expanded to two of UW-Platteville's Engineering building. In addition to Ottensman Hall,
where EXPO has has traditionally been held (building #29 on the map),
we will also make use of Engineering Hall (building #25 on the map). Otts is
immediately to the right of the smoke stack. The smoke stack is very prominent
once you arrive on campus, so simply head towards it after you are parked.
Engineering Hall is about a block south of OTTS on the corner of Southwest Road
and Longhorn Drive. A
virtual tour is also available and can help you get oriented before your arrival
on campus.
