Getting to and around the UWP Campus
EXPO occurs while classes (except engineering and some science classes) are in
session at UWP; parking may therefore prove to be a challenge. The information
below should help familiarize you with the campus geography.
Getting to Campus
The UWP campus is located at the western edge of Platteville. For direction to
get to campus, a simplified
map of Platteville
is available on-line that shows highways and major streets.
Parking
This year we have been assured that parking permits will not be required, thus
you are free to park in any legal parking space. We would suggest the following
locations: Lot 7A (off of Jay Street) for buses and lots 25A, 26 and 24 (off of
Longhorn Stree) for cars. An on-line
UWP map showing parking
that shows all parking lots on campus. NOTE: Regulations
regarding parking on the grass, in fire lanes, in pedestrian cross walks, in
handicapped spots, etc., will still be enforced. Do not park in any of
these restricted areas. Also, the City of Platteville will enforce normal parking
regulations for on-street parking. If you have any questions or
problems please contact us: Email: expo@uwplatt.edu
or
EMS Dean's Office: 608-342-1561 (voice).
Getting around on Campus
The UWP campus is compact and all facilities are within easy walking distance.
The UWP map
mentioned above shows all campus buildings as well as parking. Ottensman Hall,
where EXPO takes place, is building #28 on the map, immediately to the right of
the smoke stack. The smoke stack is very prominent once you arrive on campus,
so simply head towards it after you are parked.
A virtual tour is also
available and can help you get oriented before your arrival on campus.
