April White Feiden
April earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English-Professional Writing, Geography, and Adult Education from UW-Platteville. Her master’s thesis explored the rhetorical nature of competition and collaboration, primarily from a Burkean perspective. She will soon graduate with a doctorate in Business Administration-Social Impact Management from Walden University. Her doctoral study explores obstacles to the adoption of sustainable practices and triple-bottom-line accounting in nonprofit organizations. April has been teaching composition at UW-Platteville off and on since Fall 2006. She loves teaching this subject because language is the foundation on which civil society rests, and she finds the greatest joy watching students realize they have the capacity to participate in and change the world around them through written and spoken communication.
