Women in Engineering Career Day is a day for young women to learn about a careers that require creative problem solving, encourages forward thinking, makes a difference in society, and shares the future of our world.
While attending the Women in Engineering Career Day you will learn about seven types of engineering through exciting demonstrations, participate in hands-on activities in math and science, and enjoy the opportunity to work in teams on hands-on projects. You will also get to know other young women who share your interests, and interact with engineering, mathematics and science college students and faculty. At the end of the day you should begin to see yourself as engineers or a career in other STEM professions.
Women in Engineering Career Day is open to young women in ninth through twelfth grade. Individuals, chaperoned school groups, and home school groups are all welcome. Women in Engineering Career Day is a collaboration of faculty, staff and students from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
The cost is $25 per participant until October 22, 2017. After October 24 the cost will increase to $30 per participant. Registration is closed after October 31, 2017. Cost includes breakfast, lunch, program materials, and project supplies. Credit cards are not accepted. Payments must be submitted by check or money order to:

School groups may request an invoice for payment by email. Individuals with financial need may request a scholarship by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Refunds, minus a $5 processing fee, will be given if requested via email prior to the October 24 deadline. No refunds will be available after October 24.
Registration will open in September. Space is limited so apply early! Space is limited to 125 girls, so apply early! A consent form by a parent or guardian must be scanned and emailed to email@example.com or mailed with the registration fee prior to the event.
Teachers and Class Groups Only:
If you are bringing a large group of students you can send paper registrations to send home with the students for parents to fill out. That information will need to be entered into the online registration prior to the deadline. Spots cannot be held while collecting paper registration and there is a risk that the program can fill up before the deadline.
There is no cost for chaperones to attend. Chaperones are required to pre-register and stay in the building for supervision during the event. Registering as a chaperone does not register the students. Breakfast and lunch is included for a chaperone registration. If you would like to chaperone this event you can register here.

You can customize you day by chooing four sessions that are of interest to you.
Women in Engineering Career Day will be held in the Velzy Commons located in Ullsvik Hall, on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s campus. For help finding the location you can view a campus map and driving directions.
If you are unable to register, then registration for the event is full. You can sign up for the wait list and if openings become available you will be contacted via email.
If you were unable to register as a group, please indicate how many students you want to bring. If you were only able to register part of your group, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Teachers, please do not substitute students at the last minute for those who decide not to attend. All students must be registered with their signed consent form and payment prior to the day of the program. If you need to substitute students, please contact us at least two business days prior to the event.
