THE UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE

Newcastle is a busy port city on the beautiful coastline of Australia. It boasts wonderful beaches, a low cost of living, a very favorable climate, a casual lifestyle, and it's not far from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales.

Newcastle has a population of 350,000, which supports a thriving business and commercial sector, and an excellent network of leading health care and educational facilities. About an hour's drive to the north is the impressive harbor of Port Stephens. This is a popular center for big game fishing, sailing, surfing, and sail boarding. The Hunter Valley and it's internationally famous wineries, many of which are more than a century old, lie to the west. To the south are the beautiful beaches of the Central Coast.

Since its establishment in 1965, the University of Newcastle has provided innovative and leading edge research and education to the world. Not surprisingly, its graduates are in high demand.

The University attracts the highest caliber of students and staff. IT has a student body of around 20,000 studying in 150 undergraduate and graduate programs on the Callaghan Campus and in the city of Newcastle and on the Ourimbah Campus on the Central Coast.
