Announcements

Summaries of New Hires – please have these to Joanne asap

Student Giving Days - Raffle and games to learn about the Foundation (the raffle will be for 2 - $500 scholarships).  Please ask faculty to talk about in classes.

Jail and Bail - next Thursday – Joanne is slowly creeping forward.

GE courses that need coverage – Each engineering department should provide one instructor to teach a section of GE 1000.  Remember this is an excellent way to recruit students.

Teaching Evaluations will be done at the departmental level.

EMS Alumni Board – Phil and Mesut will compose a letter nominating Rich Shultz for the emeriti faculty award.  Joanne will ask the advisory board president for a copy of the verbage for the plaque that was presented to Rich.  We need a plaque to hang with the other deans Busby and McDonald – would be a good time to do this when he is recognized by the Alumni Board.

Elections:  Philip Parker needs nominations for

Assessment Oversight, Academic Standards, International Education Committee.

The new Dean has been chosen and accepted the position.  Chancellor announced the name at the Emeriti luncheon.
