Visitor Present:  Tammy Salmon-Stephens

 

Minutes from April 21, 2008 were not available at this time.

 

Announcements:

1.    Tammy – Student Awards were held Friday, April 25th.  Dan Winter received the Chancellor’s Medallion, John Schendt received the Alumni Award, Jenna Walsh received the UWP Student Woman of the Year Award, and Brittany DuCharme received the Leadership Award.

2.    Rich – announced that there is a Chemistry candidate here today.

 

Discussion Topics:

1.    Mechanical Engineering UUCC Documents – Dave Kunz

Dave presented six documents for approval of prerequisite changes; ME 2630, ME 3040, ME 3300, ME 3640, ME 4830, and ME 4930.  Joe moved to approve the items with the following editorial change:  All ME courses submitted today requiring CHEM 1450 as a prerequisite will now read CHEM 1450 or CHEM 1240 as a prerequisite.  Max seconded the motion.  Discussion followed.  All were in favor of the motion.

2.    Rich asked Dave where we are with summer offerings for ME 2630 and GE 2630. Dave said it’s still in the process.

3.    Other

a.     Lisa and Abulkhair had a great trip to Aldine, Texas.  They, along with Phil Sealy and Nick Confer (EP student) were judges for high school engineering projects.  Lisa said the students were well prepared and gave great presentations.  She also thanked everyone who donated t-shirts and bags.

 

 

Rich reminded everyone that the next meeting will be on Monday, May 4th at 4:00 p.m., 119 Boebel Hall.
