MINUTES - EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING

Announcements:

 

  1. Max informed everyone that he made the suggestion to have UUCC informational agenda items distributed electronically rather than paper copies.  Carol Sue Butts will pass along this suggestion.  Discussion followed.  Rich will follow through with this at Academic Affairs.
  2. Jaime indicated that Bodine-Electric Co. will be visiting UWP on December 10th.  A schedule will be forthcoming.
  3. Pioneer Preview went well as reported by Abulkhair.  Approximately 600 people were in attendance.
  4. William Mahone (Professor from Mississippi State University) will be visiting campus on December 2.  If you would like further information, contact Jim Hamilton.
  5. SAIF & CIF grants—Consideration for the CIF grants this year will be based upon community and university partnerships.  SAIF funding will be granted toward initiatives that will lead to future grant proposal for development at UWP.
  6. Textbook requests went well.  Rich indicated that the College of EMS was not overspent at this time.
  7. A distribution of printer costs by individuals was distributed by Rich.  Discussion was held regarding future printer needs and costs of the university.

 

Discussion Topics:

1.      Pathways to Platteville—Mesut reported that approximately 50 seventh graders attending the first session.  It was a good opportunity to get the word out regarding EMS.  There are three more sessions.  Tammy will take 11/19.  Tammy and Abulkhair will take 11/20.   Jaime and Jim will take 11/21.  Rich thanked those individuals for representing the College at this event.

2.      Budget Difficulties—Motion by Phil and second by Mohan to move into executive session.

 

Came out of executive session and meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
