- Saturday, April 4 - M-Ball - Lighting of the M
- Distributed nomination forms for the Wisconsin Women and Government Scholarships
due May 15.
- The College received permission to plan the Master of Engineering Program.
- Discussion Topics
- T. Ceylan presented a curriculum proposal to change the requirements for the
Mechanical Engineering Major. Currently, ME 373 and 473 are both required for the
major. The proposal would require either 373 or 473 and reduce the total number of
credits to graduation from 134 to 131. Motion to accept the proposal passed.
- The proposed
student evaluation form was reviewed. P. Young felt that Questions 2
and 3 should be tied to both Question 1 and the expected grade for a more accurate
summary. It was felt that the department name may not be necessary. A suggestion
was made to expand Question 1 to include checkoff options with an "Other" category.
The Dean felt that the proposed format should be presented at a department faculty
meeting for approval. The Executive Council members endorsed the form.

- Other Business
- The selection of UWP members of the Advisory Board was discussed. UWP faculty
members are non-voting liaison members, and serve on committees as college
representatives. The Dean will draft a procedure to be used for the initial selection and
rotation of UWP faculty for the Council's approval.
- Examples of Web pages containing faculty information were reviewed. Council
members felt that for consistency there should be similar formats with specific
information on faculty members with links to personal Web pages. When accessing an
individual faculty member's page, linkages should be present to prevent only being
able to go back to the UWP Home page. This suggestion will be passed on to the
Computer Committee.
