About
To expand and meet the needs of place bound students and working adults throughout Wisconsin, UW-Platteville in collaboration with the UW Colleges, will supplement UW Colleges courses with UW-Platteville engineering courses via a new delivery method of streaming media.
The program is designed so that students can earn a bachelor’s degree from UWP without ever leaving their local UW Colleges campus. Courses are delivered via state-of-the-art technology along with courseware management systems and face-to-face portable lab instruction.
How it works
Students get their first two years of general education classes at their participating UW Colleges campus, completing freshman and sophomore courses as well as pre-engineering core requirements.
Professional engineering courses are offered by UW-Platteville. They are recorded during an actual class setting, encoded and available to students via the internet. Students will be able to interact with their professor during his/her office hours by way of a video cam set up on the professor’s computer and at the participating UW College. Face-to-face lab instruction will be provided via a mobile lab and held in various locations. Schedules for laboratory activities will be provided each semester with the class timetable.
