Accreditation

Engineering Accreditation Commission

The following University of Wisconsin-Platteville engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.  ABET is a non-governmental, peer-review body that ensures educational programs meet established standards of quality.

Accreditation provides a structured mechanism to assess, evaluate, and improve program quality. It assures that programs meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies, and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.

Accreditation enables employers to recruit graduates they know are well-prepared and graduate admissions committees to identify students who come from strong undergraduate programs. In most states, graduation from an accredited program is necessary to obtain professional registration or licensure.
