PYF is for 5th - 8th grade girls.
We welcome chaperoned school groups, home school groups, and individuals.

Pioneering Your Future in STEM is a collaboration of women faculty, staff, and students from UW-Platteville's Colleges of BILSA and EMS.

Program Description

Learn about the exciting career opportunities that are available for women interested in STEM. The hands-on, interactive career sessions will give you some ideas for exploring careers that involve problem solving and experimentation, putting things together and taking them apart, and using what you learn in your studies of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Plus, it is lots of fun!

11:00 a.m.        Lunch and Keynote Speakers
12:00 p.m.        Session 2
1:00 p.m.          Session 3
2:00 p.m.          Closing
2:15 p.m.          Admissions Information Session and Campus Tour (Optional)

Session topics are Math, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering/Computer Science, Horticulture/Botany, Biology, and Entrepreneurship in STEM.


Pioneering Your Future will be held in the Velzy Commons and Nohr Gallery located in Ullsvik Hall (30 Hickory Street).

The cost to attend the Pioneering Your Future in STEM is $25.00 per participant and includes breakfast, lunch, program materials, and project supplies. The participant fee must be submitted by check or money order.

Students with financial need may request scholarships by emailing


Chaperones can attend at no cost. They are required to pre-register and stay in the building for supervision during the event. Breakfast and lunch is available to all chaperones attending the event.
