Areas of expertise: Wireless Communications and Digital Signal Processing
Job Title: Modeling and Systems ArchitectEmployer: CeLight Inc.
Job Description:
Research and development of digital signal processing algorithms to mitigate free-space optical and RF channel impairments.
UWP Experience:
I had great educational experiences at UWP. My professors were great. I spent all my time at UWP studying vary hard and learning, it did pay off!
TYPICAL WORK DAY:
Do I have a typical day? Oh, I come to office around 6AM or 7AM or may be 10AM (if I feel lazy). Make cup of tea or espresso and slowly warm myself up by reading IEEE or some other journal papers to help me understand a new concept. Most days I write some Matlab codes for analyzing the free-space optical/RF systems. I usually have few people working under my supervision, so need to make sure they are doing their job. I may need to explain some technical concept to my peers or other people in the company.
You have to understand, I work in a start-up company and we do research for the defense industry. My CTO and CEO are from Israel, so their work ethics are very different. We have fun when we work and do whatever needs to get things done on time. That means, there are days that I spend 12+ hours in my office. The work is so exciting that the extra mile makes me smile at the end.
I am sure that this is a unique situation and I love it!
