A portfolio is a tool that allows you to demonstrate growth and thinking skills through the display of work-over-time. It is a product that facilitates self-reflection, self-improvement, intrapersonal understanding, professional growth, interpersonal skills, as well as conceptual understandings and skill development.

Teacher candidates will be completing three levels of portfolio assessments.

Admission Portfolio: Students will present their admission (Level I) portfolio during Pre-Professional Days in October or March. The portfolio is a requirement to be admitted to the School of Education. Students must address two of the ten Wisconsin teaching standards.

Student Teaching Portfolio: Students need to complete the student teaching (Level II) portfolio one semester prior to student teaching. The portfolio will be electronic and will address six of the ten Wisconsin teacher standards. Two artifacts must come from pre-student teaching practicum. The portfolio will be reviewed during the teacher candidates pre-student teaching class.

Licensure Portfolio: Licensure (Level III) portfolio addresses all ten Wisconsin teacher standards with a minimum of two artifacts from the student teaching experience. The portfolio is due on or before Dec. 10 or May 10 by e-mailing your electronic portfolio address to education@uwplatt.edu. A passing grade will be recorded on your transcript under TCHG 4990 Licensure Portfolio during the student teaching semester.

To review all of the requirements and specifics of the portfolios, please see the School of Education Undergraduate Portfolio Handbook.
