INTRODUCTION FOR ONLINE
The online courses are set up in a highly interactive format that allows students to communicate with their instructor and classmates. Students sign up for courses each semester and participate in a virtual classroom environment, completing both individual and team assignments via the internet. Discussion segments are also a requirement of the online classes, but are done in an asynchronous format, so students are not required to be online at a specific time. Students who pay their tuition by the priority registration deadline will receive access to the class one week prior to the actual start of the class. This gives students an opportunity to review the content of the course and participate in the online orientation to the course software, prior to the official first day of class.
COURSE SCHEDULING FOR ONLINE
Course availability is determined by semester. To view a long-range tentative course rotation schedule go to the online advising page

INTRODUCTION FOR PRINT-BASED
The print-based courses are set up on an individualized, self-paced basis,
which allows ultimate flexibility for each student. After registering for
a course, students are sent a course manual (written by a faculty member),
which is used as a guide to complete the course. Written assignments, reading
assignments, competencies, objectives, and exam preparation are a part of
each module of a print-based course. The course manual is a companion for
the textbook(s) associated with each class. Each individual student determines
the time frame in which they will complete the assignments and exam for the
class. Students have up to one year to complete a contract.

INTRODUCTION FOR INTERACTIVE TV
Interactive video conferencing systems serve as a link between the instructor and students in a synchronous distance course. This kind of interaction allows students
to learn at the same time regardless of physical distance. At UW-Platteville, instructors typically meet with a class of on-campus students in a video conferencing classroom, and through the use of video cameras, microphones, and other technologies, the class is delivered to distance students who have gathered at various off campus sites.
