What should I take and when to earn my Master of Science in Project Management?
To plan your curriculum sequence, use this information in conjunction
with guidance from your advisor and the Credit Evaluation for Admission
Form that you received with your Graduate School Admission letter. The
Credit Evaluation for Admission Form will indicate which foundation
courses you are required to take, which courses require
prerequisites, how many transfer credits you have been awarded, and
whether any eligibility restrictions exist for you for any courses.
Courses
All courses are three credits unless otherwise noted. Instructors in
some courses require proctored exams. The MSPM program consists of 30-36
credit hours involving:
Business Foundation
Courses: (0 - 12 credits)
ACCT 7000 Managerial Accounting
If this is required and you have not had a previous accounting course,
take this before taking BSAD 5620. Can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 5530 Organizational Behavior
If required, can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 5620 Financial Management
Prerequisite: undergraduate accounting or ACCT 7000
If required and the prerequisite has not been met, take ACCT 7000 before
taking this course. Can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 6630 Marketing Management
If required, can be taken whenever offered.
Project Management Core
Courses: (15 credits)
(These five courses are required of all students.)
PM 7010 Project Management Techniques I
Usually the first course taken in the Project Management Program.
PM 7020 Project Management Techniques II
Second course in series taken in Project Management; usually taken the
semester after PM 7010 is completed.
BSAD 7540 Advanced Quality Management
Can be taken whenever offered. It is expected that you have some
background (education or experience) in quality management before taking
this course. If you don't have such a background, consider taking BSAD
5540 first.
COMM 7330 Organizational Communication
Can be taken whenever offered.
PM 7840 Project Management Capstone
Last course taken to complete degree requirements for Project Management
Program.

BSAD 5650 International Financial Management
Can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 5720 International Marketing
Can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 6110 Management Science
Prerequisite: Statistics Course
If prerequisite is met, can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 6200 Employee Recruitment and Selection
Can be taken whenever offered.
BSAD 6330 Labor-Management Relations
Can be taken whenever offered.
COMM 5010 Business Communication
Can be taken whenever offered.
ENG 5000 Technical Writing
Can be taken whenever offered.
MATH 6050 Applied Statistics
Prerequisite: Calculus II
If prerequisite is met, can be taken whenever offered.
MATH 753 Numerical Analysis
Prerequisite: Calculus II
If prerequisite is met, can be taken whenever offered.
MIE 6030 Production and Operations Analysis
Can be taken whenever offered.
MIE 6830 Cost and Value Analysis
Can be taken whenever offered.
PM 7940 Special Topics in Project Management
(1-3 cr)
Must contact advisor for availability/special registration instructions.
PM 7980 Independent Study
(1-4 cr.)
Must contact advisor for availability/special registration instructions.
