School of Graduate Studies General Requirements

  1. All students must complete a minimum of 30 graduate credits.
  2. Students admitted prior to July 1, 2004 must complete at least 15 credits of 7000-level courses.
    • Effective July 1, 2004: Any student admitted to a graduate program must earn at least 18 credits of 7000-level courses.
    • Effective July 1, 2006: Any student admitted to a graduate program must earn at least 21 credits of 7000-level courses.
  3. A minimum of 50% of the credits required for a degree must be from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville graduate courses.
  4. Courses in the 5000-6000 levels are open to graduate students for graduate credit, provided the courses had not previously been taken at the undergraduate level.
  5. Graduate students must maintain a 3.00 grade point average.
  6. Graduate students are allowed seven years from the date of admission into a master's program to complete degree requirements (extensions may be granted).
  7. Transfer of credits requires approval by faculty in the Project Management Program and the dean of the School of Graduate Studies.
  8. Transfer credits will not be officially recorded until the student has successfully completed some graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and only courses where the student received a grade of B or higher will be accepted.
