ELECTIVES

Because 120 credits are required to complete the degree, you will need an additional variable number of elective credit hours beyond the general education and major requirements.  These courses may be in any area of your choosing -- business administration or otherwise.

ACCOUNTING MINOR REQUIREMENTS

The elective credit area can be used to earn a minor. A 24-credit optional accounting minor is available. The following courses are required for the accounting minor. UW-Platteville offers most of the courses needed to complete the accounting minor at a distance.

ACCT 2010 Financial Accounting	3 cr.
ACCT 2020 Management Accounting	3 cr.
ACCT 3010 Intermediate Accounting I	3 cr.
*ACCT 3040 Federal Income Tax	3 cr.
ACCT 3230 Cost Accounting	3 cr.

Three elective accounting courses are required. UW-Platteville offers the following: 

ACCT 3020 Intermediate Accounting II	3 cr.
ACCT 3050 Advanced Accounting I	3 cr.
ACCT 3530 Budgets and Budgetary Control	3 cr.

If you have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an accounting minor, you may be eligible to take the Certified Public Accountant examination for the State of Wisconsin.
