Professional Experience
Apperson is a licensed airplane pilot with 4000+ hours of pilot-in-command time and has completed the FBI instructor development training program. He retired from the Anchorage Police Department in 2002 as the senior patrol supervisor after a 25-year career.
During his police career, Apperson was involved with all phases of police work, including a stint on a federal task force and as a police aircraft pilot involving special operations. Prior to his retirement, Apperson taught police patrol procedures and report writing in the Anchorage Police Training Academy. Apperson currently teaches in the criminal justice program at the Anchorage Campus of Wayland Baptist University.
Personal Information
Apperson and his wife live in Anchorage, Alaska, where they take advantage of many outdoor activities, including hiking, snow shoeing, camping, and flying airplanes.
