Professional Experience

Lawton brings twenty years of probation experience, working in all facets of the job, including, but not limited to: pretrial supervision, investigations, sex offender facilitator, and post-conviction supervision. While at Ball State University, she was employed with the Social Research and Service Center for the University.
 
Upon graduation, she began employment with the State of Indiana as a probation officer and is currently employed with the United States District Courts as a Probation/Pretrial Services Officer. She most recently completed a two-week certification at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center to become a Safety Instructor.
 
She is a member of numerous academic and professional organizations including: Pi Gamma Mu, American Correctional Association. Federal Probation and Pretrial Officers Association, and the American Probation/Parole Association.
