    The Distance Learning Center staff is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all of its students and visitors. Personal information that you give us – including e-mail addresses – will not be released to a third party without your consent. Any personal information we receive will be collected only with your knowledge and consent.

    Use of Digital Cookies


    A cookie is a small data file issued to visitors by web sites and stored on the visitor’s hard drive. The Distance Learning Center web site uses cookies to assist with navigation and logging web traffic. A cookie cannot read or extract information from a hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Visitors can refuse cookies by turning them off in their browser; however, the user-friendly navigation of the UWP Distance Education site will lose its functionality when cookies are disabled. Our navigational cookie is set to expire when you close your browser window.

    Traffic Logging

    In order to enhance and update our web site, the Distance Learning Center gathers statistical information, such as user platforms, browser types, IP addresses, and the previous URLs visited before clicking through to our site. We use a reliable third party service to collect aggregate data, which is used exclusively for evaluation of our service and to improve your web experience. We may share this aggregate information with others in reports to establish our users' general needs, but our web statistics are not presented in any fashion that would (or could) reveal an individual's personal data.

    We reserve the right to disclose personal information without consent if we believe exigent circumstances warrant such action.

    Message Boards

    Message boards are available for student use as part of their online courses. Please remember that anything that is disclosed in these areas becomes public knowledge and exercise caution when disclosing personal information. We cannot safeguard the privacy of information you choose to disclose online in this manner. However, it is important to remember that all online classes are password protected, so the only people who should have access to the courses are students, instructors, and technical personnel.
