· Spend some time reviewing information that is located on the site to familiarize yourself with the content
· Use the search function to find a specific topic you need
Student Advisory Board

· Communicate with these folks to get a student perspective to your questions
· Identify issues you would like this group to bring to their meetings
Advisor
· Be sure to communicate with your advisor on an ongoing basis.
· Don’t wait until the last minute to ask this person questions—all of our advisors have lots of people to serve, so if you wait until a deadline is looming, they may not be able to connect with you in time to meet the deadline.
· If
you are a special student (i.e. non degree-seeking), you are not
assigned an academic advisor. You should contact the Distance
Learning Center with your questions.
Student Newsletter - Plexus
· A student newsletter is printed 3 times per year (April, July, November)
· The newsletter is located on the distance education website under "About Us" (archived copies are also found there)
· Very important information regarding your programs, administrative issues, registration deadlines, etc. is located in this publication—be sure to read every issue thoroughly!
Contact Numbers
· Keep a list of the various contact numbers and e-mails that are important for you to use on an ongoing basis.
· Before beginning your classes, be sure to participate in the online tutorial and sample online course
