Special Registration Instructions

Before registering for this class please note the following:
  1. Each semester, there are specific deadlines for the approval of Independent Study proposals for both financial aid and non-financial aid students.  Please review these Important Dates.

  2. The student MUST have permission from the faculty advisor to enroll in this course. The advisor needs to be consulted before proceeding any further with registration for this class!


  3. Once the advisor's permission is obtained, download and print the following document:


    When filling out this form, do not fill in the "Course Starting/Ending Dates" -- the University will fill in those dates. If you have any questions concerning the "Project Summary" section of the form, address them to your advisor for further explanation.


  4. Once the form is completed, send it (along with any additional documentation) to the attention of your advisor. After the University obtains all of the necessary signatures on the Instructor/Advisor Approval Form, an enrollment form will be prepared and sent to the student along with the billing information. It is then the student's responsibility to return the enrollment form, with payment, to the Distance Learning Center.
