In our
continuing efforts to improve our programs and
services for our distance learning students,
we ask for your feedback in a variety of
formats. You receive course/instructor
evaluations as you complete each course. You
also receive a student services evaluation on
an annual basis. Periodically, we send e-mail
questionnaires to ask for input about changes
that have been made in policies and
procedures. As our programs continue to
grow and we look toward finding the most
efficient and effective ways in which to serve
your needs, we will be continuing to ask for
your input. We appreciate the time you
take to fill out these evaluations. We
take the results very seriously and make
appropriate changes in our systems.
To become more
proactive in obtaining information and
feedback from our students, we are developing
a student advisory board. The purpose of
this group will be to review new and
current processes and give input as to changes
that can be made in our programs to
be the most beneficial to you, the
students. In addition, we will be asking
for your ideas on new initiatives that we
should review for implementation. By
having this information obtained with student
input "up front," we will be able to
be more proactive in serving your needs.
We will plan
on the group beginning its work in January
2002. We want to get a good
cross-section of people on the advisory board
(i.e., different majors, various stages of a
program, gender mix, etc.). We will plan
to meet monthly, either via conference call or
listserv (or chat), for approximately 2
hours. Please contact Dawn Drake at
1-800-362-5460or e-mail drake@uwplatt.edu
to indicate an interest in serving on the
advisory board or to ask questions about its
purpose.
