As
the alumni base for programs offered at a distance continues to grow, we
want to make sure that we keep in close contact with each of you, so you
are kept informed of what is happening at your alma mater. As current students,
you played a key role in assisting with the development of a variety of
projects and plans associated with distance education at UW-Platteville.
Your input was invaluable in helping to improve many of the policies, procedures,
and processes associated with distance education. We want that tradition
to continue!
An
alumni committee has been formed in the Distance Learning Center to assist
with a variety of activities associated with alumni of the programs offered
at a distance. The first task of this committee was to prepare for the
graduation banquet and reception that was held in May. In addition, this
group assisted with the development of the virtual graduation web site.
Now that graduation has come and gone, we will begin working on other projects
that will help serve alumni.
Although
the group has several ideas about activities/communication for the alumni
of the distance programs, we would like to hear about your ideas as well.
As we begin the celebration of the 25th anniversary of distance education
at UW-Platteville, we want this year to serve as a special recognition
to our alumni! You were the "trendsetters"--the ones willing to participate
in a form of educational delivery that was unique. Your willingness to
participate in distance education has allowed our program array and delivery
to grow and prosper. By maintaining our contact with you, we hope
that you will provide input that will assist in our continued growth.
The
