In our continuing efforts to make our distance programs available to people around the world, UW-Platteville is working on a number of partnership agreements with other educational institutions and businesses.  As each partnership is developed, we will keep you informed as to how this will impact you or someone you know who might become involved in one of our programs offered at a distance.

Transfer agreements were recently signed with the University of Virginia and the University of California-Irvine to allow graduate project management certificate courses to transfer into our Project Management program. If you have attended either of these institutions and would like to see how courses you have taken may fit into our Project Management program, please contact the Distance Learning Center and indicate you are interested in the transfer agreements.

In addition, we are working on transfer agreements with the University of Washington for both Project Management and Business Administration.

We are in the final stages of completing an agreement with New Horizons computer training company that will allow us to use some of their classes to count toward computer science credits associated with the undergraduate degree in Business Administration.  When this agreement is completed, we will provide additional information to you.  In the meantime, if you have questions about this partnership, please contact Dawn Drake at the Distance Learning Center.

We are looking at initiating and expanding transfer/articulation agreements with several institutions, including Madison Area Technical College, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Nicolet Technical College, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, Highland Community College, Colorado Community College System, and Florida Community College System.  When these agreements become finalized, we will inform you.

Lastly, we have been contacted by a variety of institutions in Jamaica, China, Sweden, and Russia, expressing an interest in partnering with us in a variety of our distance programs.  Most of these discussions are in preliminary stages, and we hope to have an agreement finalized during 2002.

As you can see, there are a variety of opportunities for partnership that are available with our distance programs.  These partnerships allow our students to become involved with many people from different cultures and various backgrounds.  If you know of a business or educational institution that would make a good partner with UW-Platteville, please pass this information along to our marketing coordinator, Darla Banfi, in the Distance Learning Center.  We plan to add a new area to our web site to promote the partnerships that we are forming, which will allow you to stay updated to the progress of these various agreements.
