UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-PLATTEVILLE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ASSOCIATION 29TH ANNUAL CAREER DAY - MARCH 29, 2002

Since 1972, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Criminal Justice faculty and the Criminal Justice Association have teamed together to provide students, the community, and prospective employees an opportunity to meet and obtain information from representatives from professional law enforcement and correctional agencies.

In the past, the Criminal Justice Career Day offered 15 to 25 agencies in attendance; however, this year the faculty and students developed the program into the largest criminal justice career day in the upper Midwest.

Over the last 28 years, the event's guest list has included a Wisconsin attorney general, Wisconsin supreme court justices, chiefs, sheriffs, and experts in their respective fields. This year's speakers included David Steingraber, Administrator of the Division of the Law Enforcement Service in the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and Jon E. Litscher, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Several of the agencies that participated in this year's event included Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), US Secret Service, US Marshals, IRS-Criminal Investigation, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Wisconsin Office of Victim Services & Programs, Wisconsin DNR, and several state and local law enforcement agencies.

This year several graduate students completing the online Master of Science in Criminal Justice program attended the event.
