The Student Center is an area that fosters connection to the university.

UWP ALUMNI
UWP Alumni is a link to the university alumni services, whose goal is to help graduates keep in touch with the university and each other. Here alumni can make connections with other alumni, keep up with UWP events, and take advantage of the opportunity to serve on the Alumni Association.

SHOP UWP
Shop UWP is a virtual campus bookstore. Here you can purchase online UWP memorabilia (gifts, apparel, accessories, and school supplies) for you and your family.

VIRTUAL GRADUATION
The Virtual Graduation link has replaced the Events Scrapbook. There are some features here for the graduates and their families, such as online invitations and ordering information for graduation gifts from the UWP Bookstore. Here you also can virtually visit the main events of our 2003 graduation celebration. It features the Banquet Ceremony with interviews of faculty, staff, and students, along with a movie clip of the actual ceremony. There also is an online yearbook and a movie of the commencement ceremony at UW-Platteville. These events were provided as streaming audio and video on the days of the event and are now archived for viewing anytime. It is one more attempt at helping our distance students feel like they are an important component of the UWP community.

EDUCATION RESOURCES
Educational Resources is a great page for students, whether they are studying at a distance or just need some online resources. It covers everything from time management and study skills to grammar and punctuation, and tips on how to write your research papers. There are links to the university's Technology Center with documentation on using software through Software Tutorials. Finally, there are links for Employment Search and a link to Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog (WISC), providing Software Discounts for UWP students.

STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD
The Student Advisory Board is a link to our distance learning student advisory board members, updates, and meeting minutes. Students can contact their representative with concerns to bring to the monthly scheduled meetings. This group of students does synchronous teleconferencing to bring to our staff the student's perspective. We appreciate their input and try to follow their suggestions whenever possible.

VIRTUAL LOUNGE
Last of all is our own version of a Student Lounge. The Virtual Lounge is a click and find area to go for fun and relaxation. You might find a link for a remote control, an invitation to bring in a virtual visitor, and if you're daring enough, you can carry on a virtual conversation with the visitor. There are links here in many areas of interest for those who just need a study break.

This portion of the web site is definitely a little over the edge compared to the traditional ideas of student centers; however, our goal is to bring to you, the student, the full campus experience. We hope that you enjoy this virtual environment.
