WHAT SHOULD I TAKE AND WHEN TO EARN
MY MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT?

To plan your curriculum sequence, use this information in conjunction with guidance from your advisor and the Credit Evaluation for Admission Form that you received with your Graduate School Admission letter. The Credit Evaluation for Admission Form will indicate which foundation courses you are required to take, which courses require prerequisites, how many transfer credits you have been awarded, and whether any eligibility restrictions exist for you for any courses.

Courses
All courses are three credits unless otherwise noted. Instructors in some courses require proctored exams. The MSPM program consists of 30-36 credit hours involving:

Business Foundation Courses: (0 - 9 credits)

ACCT 7000 Managerial Accounting
If this is required and you have not had a previous accounting course, take this before taking BSAD 5620. Can be taken whenever offered.

BSAD 5530 Organizational Behavior
If required, can be taken whenever offered.

COMM 5010 Business Communication
Can be taken whenever offered

Project Management Core Courses: (15 credits)

(These five courses are required of all students.)

PM 7010 Project Management Techniques I
Usually the first course taken in the Project Management Program.

PM 7020 Project Management Techniques II
Second course in series taken in Project Management; usually taken the semester after PM 7010 is completed.

BSAD 7540 Advanced Quality Management
Can be taken whenever offered. It is expected that you have some background (education or experience) in quality management before taking this course. If you don't have such a background, consider taking BSAD 5540 first.

OR

PM 7080 Project Scope Management 


COMM 7330 Organizational Communication 
Can be taken whenever offered.

OR

PM 7040 Interpersonal Skills for Virtual and Co-Located Project Teams 


PM 7840 Project Management Capstone
Last course taken to complete degree requirements for Project Management Program.

Prerequisite: undergraduate accounting or ACCT 7000

BSAD 5720 International Marketing

BSAD 5740 Consumer Behavior
Can be taken whenever offered.

BSAD 6200 Employee Recruitment and Selection
Can be taken whenever offered.

BSAD 6330 Labor-Management Relations

BSAD 6630 Marketing Management
If required, can be taken whenever offered.

BSAD 7110 Management Decision Analysis
Prerequisite: Statistics Course
If prerequisite is met, can be taken whenever offered.

BSAD 7540 Advanced Quality Management

ENGRG 7850 Taguchi Method of Designing Experiments

PHIL 7530 Business Ethics

PM 7030 Project Risk Management
Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in PM 7010 and PM 7020 or consent of instructor or department chair
If prerequisite is met, can be taken whenever offered.

PM 7050 Project Procurement Management
Can be taken whenever offered.

PM 7060 Advanced Tools and Techniques for Project Management
Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in PM 7010 and PM 7020 or consent of instructor or department chair

PM 7070 Program Management
Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in PM 7010 and PM 7020 or consent of instructor or department chair
