GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
- Approximately one month prior to the final semester, the student must
notify their advisor of intent to graduate by e-mailing their full
name, degree, and month and year of anticipated graduation.
- The coordinator will then send an intent to graduate memo to Chris
Jentz in the Distance Learning Center, with a signed copy of the
student's program plan, thereby confirming that the student meets all
department requirements for graduation.
- If enrolled in CJ 792, the student must complete the seminar paper
and submit the original paper with the abstract, plus an additional
copy of the abstract to:

- Chris will review the file to verify that all payments have been
received, the official transcripts are on file, and graduate school
requirements have been met.
- Chris will send the student a letter, a File for Masters Degree form, credit card payment form, and additional information. The student should:
- When the File for Masters Degree Form is received with payment, the student will receive:
- A letter verifying information on the form. This should include 1.) correct spelling of the student's name on the diploma, 2.) mailing address, and 3.) name of the degree. Please read this letter carefully and check for errors to ensure correct information on your diploma and in the graduation bulletin.
- Copy of the form.
- Information about the graduation ceremony, purchase of caps and gowns, tickets and other graduation activities will be sent to students who wish to participate in graduation, approximately two months before graduation by the university.
You must contact the University Bookstore at the UW Platteville Pioneer Student Center (608) 342-1486 for assistance in ordering your cap, gown, tassel and masters hood. The cost for these items is usually around $55.00.
Your actual diploma is not given out at graduation - it will be mailed 8-10 weeks after graduation, providing all necessary grades are posted and financial obligations are met.
