To obtain a criminal justice major, students must earn a Minimum of 36
credits (12 courses) as outlined below:
CORE REQUIREMENTS
- 15 credits
To fulfill the Core requirements, students must take the following courses:
CJ 1130 Introduction to Criminal Justice.......3 cr.
CJ 2130 The Police Function....................3 cr.
CJ 2230 Correctional Philosophy................3 cr.
CJ 4030 Criminal Law...........................3 cr.
CJ 4930 Criminal Justice Seminar...............3 cr.

RESEARCH METHODS
REQUIREMENTS -3 credits
To fulfill the Research Methods
requirement, students should take the following course:
CJ 3900 Research Methods in Criminal Justice..3 cr.

This course has a prerequisite of CJ 2130 and 2230 with a "C" or higher, MATH
1830 (Elementary Statistics), and junior standing or consent of the instructor.
THEORY REQUIREMENT
