Professional Experience
Wright is the first tenure-track faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Project Management program. He has more than 25 years of professional experience. Prior to returning to Wisconsin, Wright was a consulting engineer, key client manager, and project manager for the technical solutions team with URS in the Melbourne, Australia office.  He is a URS-certified project manager.  

Wright is a former US Army Medical Service Corps Lieutenant Colonel with more than 21 years of active military service. During his military career, he managed large and small projects across a broad range of topics, including: implementing the largest military environmental air quality study in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom; conducting engineering studies in the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia; developing quality management programs; organizing major conferences; and participating in military acquisition programs.  In 2005, he was inducted into the Order of Military Medical Merit.  

He has presented at national and international conferences and has authored papers in peer-reviewed engineering and science journals. Wright has held his professional engineering license since 1992 and spent 12 years working overseas in Japan, Korea, Australia, Germany, and completed a one-year combat tour of duty in the Iraq War.

Personal Information
Wright lives in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, and is enjoying his time back in the region where he grew up 30 years ago. He enjoys traveling, motorcycles, golf, the outdoors, and renovating his home.  He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
