- Master of Science in Criminal Justice, University of Wisconsin-Platteville
- Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, University of Wisconsin-Platteville
After his undergraduate work at UW-Platteville, Wiegman attended the first UW-Platteville Police Academy.
He previously worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the count of Grant based out of Lancaster, Wisconsin. While his primary duty at the Sheriff's Department was patrol, he also worked closely with the jail and dispatch areas filling in when necessary. Toward the end of his tenure with the department, Wiegman started to work on the department computers and computer database. His interest in technology eventually led him to a new career at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville as an Academic Computer Support Specialist. As time progressed it was obvious that both career paths were beginning to merge and therefore he went on to pursue his Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree. During his graduate studies, Wiegman focused on technology and crime, specifically digital piracy and identity theft.
Since graduating from the program, Wiegman has taught part-time the undergraduate-level Introduction to Criminal Justice course both online and on campus for UW-Platteville.
Wiegman is also a member of the Wisconsin National Guard with over 20 years of service. He is currently a Senior Master Sergeant in the 115th Fighter Wing, Air National Guard in Madison, Wisconsin.
