Since the fall of 2005, Dr. Christine Storlie has been teaching on campus and on-line management courses for the School of Business in the College of Business, Industry, Life Sciences, and Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Courses taught include Data Analysis and Decision Making, Business Analytics, Management Decision Analysis, Management Science, Advanced Quality Management, Project Management Techniques I, Global Business, Leadership & Management, Human Resources Management, and Management, Gender, & Race. In addition, since June 2008, Dr. Storlie has served as the Distance Learning Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree Program.
Previously, Dr. Storlie taught numerous courses at several universities in South Dakota and Arizona. Since April of 2004, she has been the proprietor of a consulting firm aimed at providing services in research methods and quantitative data analyses to individuals and corporations. Dr. Storlie began her career as an ecological research scientist. While serving as a Project Manager for two multi-million dollar federal grants over a ten year period, her duties became increasingly administrative. After realizing that her interests had shifted from ecology to management, she pursued a PhD in Business Organization and Management.
Dr. Storlie is a member of the Academy of Management, the Project Management Institute, the American Society for Quality, and the Decision Sciences Institute. She volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America by serving as Den Leader for Cub Scouts. She has also been a member of the Board of Directors for the Platteville Area Optimist Club since 2009, and served as President for two-years (2012-14). Additionally, she has been a volunteer with the Platteville Holiday Project and Coats for Kids since 2010.
In her free time, Dr. Storlie likes to spend time with her son, Aksel, playing games, watching movies, reading books, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys traveling in the U.S. and abroad for work and pleasure. Recreational activities she enjoys include: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, jogging, bicycling, in-line skating, yoga, pilates, swimming, snorkeling/SCUBA diving, water skiing/boating, and almost anything else that gets her outside and/or keeps her active.
