The following information is provided in response to the regulatory requirements of the following states:


UW-Platteville is registered with the Iowa College Student Aid Commission to provide distance education to residents of Iowa.


Iowa National Guard Personnel, who receive military orders (involuntary call to active duty) that will interrupt their education, must provide a copy of their orders to the registrar. Notification of the registrar will allow the distance education student to exercise the following options:

  1. Withdraw from all courses with a full refund of tuition and mandatory fees
  2. Selective withdrawal from one or more courses with a full refund of tuition and mandatory fees
  3. Incomplete grades awarded at the discretion of the instructor to provide an extension for completing coursework
  4. Final grades may be issued if the instructor determines that the student has completed a sufficient amount of coursework
These terms of withdrawal apply to distance education students who are spouses of activated National Guard Personnel when the student/spouse has a dependent child.

UW-Platteville is registered with the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

Students who reside in Maryland are encouraged to utilize UW-Platteville’s internal complaint process before filing a complaint with the following state agency: Maryland Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division, 200 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21202, or call 410.528.8662, or 888.743.0823 (toll free).


For residents of Maryland, UW-Platteville will abide by the refund policy outlined in COMAR 13B.05.01.10. Contact the Distance Learning Center for detailed information.

Minnesota UW-Platteville is a member of the University of Wisconsin System and is registered with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education.
Texas UW-Platteville is exempt from regulation in Texas under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code.
