DIRECT DEPOSIT REFUNDING

Once admitted to a degree program and enrolled in your first distance education course, you will receive a green envelope from Higher One with directions for establishing direct deposit of financial aid or other refunds while you are a UW-Platteville student. Use the number on the enclosed activation card to log on at www.UW-PlattevillePlusCard.com and select your refund preference.

You may choose to

  • Deposit refunds in your existing bank account.
    • Complete and submit the form to indicate this choice and the account where you want your refunds deposited. Funds will be available at your existing bank two-three days after UW-Platteville sends them to Higher One.

    • Keep your activation card. There will be a replacement fee if you decide to change your refund preference or open a Higher One checking account in the future and no longer have the card.

OR

  • Set up a new checking account with Higher One.
    • Your activation card becomes a debit card and funds will be available as soon as Higher One receives them from UW-Platteville. There is a fee to replace your card if it is lost or stolen.

    • With a Higher One checking account, there is no fee charged when you use an ATM operated by Higher One or an ATM on the UW-Platteville campus. To see a list of other Higher One ATM locations, visit www.UW-PlattevillePlusCard.com and select the Fee Schedules link at the bottom of the page.

For information about your refunds and a variety of financial services/topics, visit www.UW-PlattevillePlusCard.com.

NOTE: If you pay for your courses electronically through PASS by credit card or e-check, your refund will be applied back to the card or account that was used originally. This is only true for online payments made through PASS. All other payments or financial aid will be refunded electronically through Higher One.

Non-degree-seeking students: You are not eligible for electronic refunding. Your refunds will continue to be processed through the UW-Platteville Cashiers Office.

International students: Current banking and postal regulations do not allow activation cards to be mailed outside of the USA. Your refunds will continue to be processed through the UW-Platteville Cashiers Office.
