Criminal Justice Minor (24 credits)

Non-forensic investigation majors may choose a criminal justice minor to accompany whichever major they are currently pursuing outside of the Department of Criminal Justice.

Requirements:

  • CRIMLJUS 1130 Introduction to Criminal Justice (3 credits)
  • CRIMLJUS 2130 The Police Function (3 credits)
  • CRIMLJUS 2230 Correctional Philosophy (3 credits)
  • CRIMLJUS 4030 Criminal Law (3 credits)
  • Plus 12 credits of electives in criminal justice

Forensic Investigation Minor (26 credits)

Non-criminal justice majors may choose a forensic investigation minor to accompany whichever major they are currently pursuing outside of the Department of Criminal Justice. The minor in forensic investigation provides a basic understanding of the role and procedures used by crime scene technicians at a crime scene. Emphasis is placed on the collection, analysis, documentation and preservation of crime scene evidence.
