Social Media Photo Contest

Time: Oct. 9 @ 2 p.m. - Oct. 14 @ 6 p.m.
Location: Online

It is time to share! Share your Homecoming pictures with us and earn points for your organization, too! The competition begins Sun. Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. and ends Fri. Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. Post up to 10 photos or videos a day of homecoming activities or student team members/alumni during homecoming week. The more students or alumni present and the more creative you get the more points you win! Don’t forget to hashtag “#UWPHomecoming16” and tag CPR. Towel Toss Volleyball

Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Indoor

TrackAll the fun of regular volleyball, but with a twist. With each side having three towels and two people per towel, work together to “toss” the volleyball to the other side of the net! Towel Toss Volleyball will be on Sunday, October 9 at 2 P.M. in the William’s Fieldhouse! You must complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 30 by 6 p.m. You can find the forms at www.uwplatt.edu/cpr/entry-forms.

Food Fight (begins)

Time: Oct. 9 @ 5 p.m. - Oct. 14 @ 6 p.m.
Location: Pioneer Involvement Center

FOOD FIGHT! This week long event will be held from Sunday, October 9 and 5:00 pm through Friday, October 14 at 6:00 pm in the Pioneer Involvement Center.  Help to fight hunger by placing non-perishable food items into your own organizations’ box or the box of any other organization.  Points will be awarded per item and counted and collected every night.  A team can also earn spirit points through the decoration of their box which should be turned in on Thursday, October 6 by 8:00.  Can your team fight the hardest?

Banner Ceremony

Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Pioneer Crossing

Hey there, Pioneers!  Show off your organization’s creativity with a 96-inch banner!  Make sure your team signs up for the Banner Ceremony that takes place on Sunday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m.  These banners will be critiqued on originality, creativity, appearance, use of theme, required information (organization’s name and the homecoming slogan UW-Platteville Homecoming 2016: Pioneers Through the Years) and presentation.  Turn in your banner before Thursday, October 6 by 8 p.m. in the CPR Office located in the PIC.  There are a ton of details with the Banner Ceremony, so make sure you check out the homecoming website!  May the best banner win!

Kid Ace: Magician and Illusionist

Time: 8 p.m.
Location: Pioneer Crossing

Are you ready for a high action event to kick off Homecoming Week? We’ve got a spectacular magician and illusionist coming to campus! At 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 9 Kid Ace will be putting on an awe-inspiring performance in the Pioneer Crossing, The Markee! Try all you want to figure out how he does it, but there’s no way to explain it; it’s truly magical! Be there and be ready to be amazed!

MONDAY, OCT. 10

Tug of War

Time: 4 p.m.Location: Memorial ParkOne!
Two! Three! Pull! Tug of War will be held on Monday, October 10 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Memorial Park. Prepare to get muddy as teams battle it out in a mud pit while trying to tug the rope over to their side. Tug of War is a bracket style tournament split into three categories: male, female, and co-ed. Top points will be awarded to the teams that can outlast the rest and most importantly… avoid the mud! Blood Drive

Two honored Platteville traditions are quickly approaching: UW-Platteville’s Homecoming and the RHA Blood Drive. This year both events fall on the same week and in order to get as much participation as possible. Homecoming teams can volunteer and donate blood for extra points. Volunteering teams will receive 2 points for every hour volunteered and 1 point for every person who donates.  The Blood Drive runs from Tuesday Oct. 11, to Thursday Oct. 13, from 10:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M in Velzy Commons, Ullsvik Hall. Questions regarding the Blood Drive and sign-up requests can be directed to Kody Kaiser, RHA representative (kaiserko@uwplatt.edu). For and questions regarding event rules, please contact the Event Chair Greg Frechette (frechetteg@uwplatt.edu).

Minute To Win It

Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Meeting Rooms, The Markee

Do you think you have what it takes to win big in only one minute? If you answered yes to this question, Minute To Win It is just for you. Minute To Win It takes place Tuesday, Oct.  11 at 6:00 P.M in the Markee Student Center rooms. The games will range from testing your knowledge to getting up and moving around. A lot can happen in just one-minutes time. Be sure to make Minute To Win It one of your homecoming 2016 games! WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12

Yell Like Hell

Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Bo Ryan Court, Williams Fieldhouse

Don’t miss Yell Like Hell, an epic night at the volleyball courts! Take a seat in Bo Ryan Court, Williams Fieldhouse on Oct. 12 at 6:15 p.m. to cheer on the Pioneer Volleyball team and show off your spirit. Your team can compete to be the loudest and most spirited on campus! Get maximum points by coordinating your teams apparel, cheers, and posters. No noisemakers are allowed and we ask that all participants respect the players and refrain from cheering during serving. Reverse Tug of War

Time: 10 p.m.
Location: Pac Pool, Williams Fieldhouse

Full speed ahead! Reverse Water Tug is coming to Homecoming week on Wednesday, October 12 from 10-12 p.m. in the PAC Pool. Reverse Water Tug is a tournament-style double elimination event consisting of two canoes connected by a rope. Each team will have three rowers in a canoe and both will begin rowing at the sound of the whistle trying to pull the other team’s canoe. Register you team prior to Sept. 30. Variety Show: Lip Sync Edition

Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Center for the Arts

Hey Pioneers!  Want to show off your lip syncing talent while having a great time with your organization?  If the answer is yes, make sure to sign up for the Homecoming Variety Show!  It will take place on October 13, at 7 P.M. in the Center for Arts!  Make sure your organization brings a flash drive with the music that you want to use and drop it off in the CPR office by October 7 by 4 P.M.  It may be difficult to fit all of your organization’s talent into a 5-minute window but make sure to follow the 5-minute maximum performance rule. We will see you and your sweet moves on stage!

FRIDAY, OCT. 14

House Decorations

Time: 4 p.m.

Location: Res Halls and Houses in the Community

Get ready for Homecoming 2016 House Decorations with your most retro, western, vintage, old-school decorations and customs! We can’t wait to meet your team’s presenter and experience an adventure of Pioneers Through The Years like never before. SATURDAY, OCT. 15

Float Judging

Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Jay Street
All on campus organizations are eligible to enter the float judging competition! Check in goes from 7:30 A.M - 8:30 A.M. on the corner of Jay Street and Championship Drive. Parade

Time: 10 a.m.
Location: Main Street
The parade is coming! The parade is coming on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m! Grab a spot on the curb of Main Street in Platteville and enjoy the whimsical wonders of the attraction reflecting the Homecoming theme, Pioneers Through the Years.
If you are interested in partaking in this journey, please register your on campus or off campus organization prior to Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. We can’t wait to see you bright eyed and bushy tailed on Saturday, Oct. 15 before 8:30 a.m.
 

Football Game vs. UW-River Falls

Time: 2 p.m.

Location: Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium

Torch Relay

Time: 7:45 p.m.
Location: Ullsvik Hall

Saturday, October 15 is the day that you have been waiting for! To end one of the best homecoming week ever we have the lighting of the world’s largest “M” at 9 pm down at the Platte Mound M. But before that we will have the Torch Relay at 7 pm starting out of Ullsvik Hall. Runners will run all the way to the “M” to light the torch that shows just how much we love orange and blue!

Location: Platteville Mound

Saturday, Oct. 15 is the day that you have been waiting for! In conclusion of one of the best homecoming weeks ever, we have the lighting of the world’s largest “M” at 9 p.m. located at the Platte Mound. The event consists of a full fireworks display, Marching Pioneers, and a community united. You will not want to miss this spectacular night!
