The assessments below are intended to help you gain information about yourself in a variety of areas. Length of time and fee* for each test or inventory are noted. Arrangements for taking any of them can be made by meeting with a member of the Counseling Services staff to determine together which would be most appropriate for you based on your interests and needs. Results will be interpreted for you directly by the counselor at a convenient time following testing. All results are your personal property. They remain strictly confidential and do not become a part of any University record.
Campbell Interest and Skill Survey: The CISS is a survey of self-reported interests and skills. It can help you understand how your interests and skills match those in the world of work. (45 min. $10.00)
Strong Interest Inventory: The SII can help you explore occupational options by identifying patterns of likes and dislikes, and by showing how these patterns compare with those of people in a wide range of occupations. (45 min. $8.00)
Self-Directed Search: The SDS is a self-administered and self-scored inventory that helps you determine some careers/occupations you might be suited for based on your interests, abilities, and experience. (30 min. $3.00)
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: The MBTI helps you identify how you perceive yourself and the world around you and how you then make judgments and decisions based on your perceptions. Your combinations of preferences is then identified and described as one of 16 personality types. (40 min. $12.00)
Beck Depression Inventory: The BDI is used for detecting possible depression. It measures cognitive, affective, somatic and performance-related symptoms of depression. (10 min.)
Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory: The CS-EI measures a person's attitude toward him or herself. (10 min.)
IPAT Anxiety Scale Questionaire: The ASQ is a brief inventory that measures an individual's level of anxiety in both covert and overt forms. (10 min.)
Eating Disorder Inventory-2: The EDI-2 self-report inventory assesses a broad range of meaningful psychological features common in anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. (20 min.)
The M.A.P.P. - An objective measure of substance abuse and personal adjustment roblems. The MAPP is a brief self-report measure designed to assist you in assessing your abuse of and dependence upon alcohol and/or other drugs and related common personal adjustment problems. (25 min.)
The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory: The LASSI measures your strengths and weaknesses in ten areas related to academic success: Attitude, Motivation, Time Management, Anxiety, Concentration, Information Processing, Selecting Main Ideas, Study Aids, Self-testing, and Test Strategies. (30 min. $3.00)
Computer Assisted Study Skills Improvement Program (CASSIP): These computerized study skills modules can help you prepare for and take different types of tests, improve concentration and improve motivation. (15 min. each)
