Teachers as Policy Advocates is for practicing teachers who want to engage the policymaking process at the district and state levels. Teachers are generally characterized as policy implementers. It is typically their job to put policies created by others into action. In this course, teachers will receive an introduction to the policymaking process, learn techniques for engaging and organizing, and develop skills by working to create an advocacy plan around a single issue. This is a hybrid course, blending both in-persona and online classroom formats.
