PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Adult Education Emphasis - 12 credits

Foundation (3 credit minimum)

• Courses address fundamental concepts of policy process, planning, analysis, human relations, and psychology appropriate to adult education.
• Weekend course that meets this requirement:
  Public Relations in School and Community (3 credits)

Research (3 credit minimum)

• Courses deal primarily with research methodology appropriate to adult education, including data collection procedures and interpretation of research studies related to student's area of concentration.
• Weekend course that meets this requirement:
  Research Procedures (3 credits)

Theories of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (3 credit minimum)

• Courses include current theories of learning, the nature of the adult learner, instructional development, evaluation, and management of the teaching-learning process.
• Weekend course that meets this requirement:
  The Adult Learner (3 credits)

Curriculum (3 credit minimum)

• Courses address instructional strategies in teaching adults, concepts and procedures in developing adult education programs, organizational analysis and management.
• Weekend course that meets this requirement:
  Program Planning for Adults (3 credits)

Cultural Arts Management Concentration - 18 credits

• Courses related to student's educational needs.
• Courses that meet this requirement:
  Management (9-12 credits)

  Developing a Good Volunteer Program (2 credits)
  Developing Successful Educational (and Other) Grants (1 credit)
  The Art of Financial Management (2 credits)
  Marketing Management (1 credit)
  Community Leadership (3 credits)
  Art & Constructing Knowledge (3 credits)

  Arts (6-9 credits)

  Studies in Art (6-9 credits - topics vary)
