Food and farm data from Crawford, Vernon, Monroe, and Richland Counties

Ken Meter, Economist and President of the Crossroads Resource Center recently completed “An Update on the Southwest Wisconsin Local Farm and Food Economy,” a study of food and farm data from Crawford, Vernon, Monroe, and Richland Counties. Ken will meet with Crawford and Vernon County leaders on May 12 and the public on May 21 in Viroqua to discuss highlights from this report including: comprehensive economic and production data about the condition of the local farm and food economy, food consumption estimates, farm and production characteristics; acreage devoted to organic food production and value of commodities produced; and value of direct sales from farms to consumers. The Southwest Wisconsin Local Farm & Food Economy Report was funded by the Valley Stewardship Network’s Food and Farm Initiative in a cooperative effort with Vernon Economic Development Corporation and the Crawford County UW Extension office. To get a copy of this report or for more information about upcoming meetings please contact Laura Brown, Crawford County UW Extension, 608.326.0223.

I like your blog. It is very thought provoking.

Can you please post a message to all your students and staff members and let them know that from now until, 12/23/2009, AsAManThinketh.net LLC is giving away 1,000,000 hard copies of the best selling success book “Think & Grow Rich for Free.”

In an economy like today, our hopes at http://www.FreeParentingBook.com, is that all of your students and staff would have a set of basic proven principles to grasp that has the potential to stimulate a steady flow of optimism on your campus.

We also hope that you students can use some of the principles in “Think & Grow Rich” to encourage senior students as well as new students on your campus to think positive and to initiate activities and clubs that would help others to do the same.

You, your students and college staff members can order your free, hard copy of “Think & Grow Rich” by visiting: http://www.ReadFreeBooksOnline.net/tagr.html
.

Sincerely,

Tony Newsom
