Live Healthy America—Live Your Dream

In June of 2006, Jim Terrell of Boscobel led a team of co-workers, based in Dodgeville, in the Lighten Up Wisconsin Challenge. They placed first out of 577 teams, with a total team weight loss of 18%. In June of 2007, Jim was the team captain of another group of co-workers in the Lighten Up Wisconsin Challenge. This time, they placed second out of over 1,500 teams. Jim is proud to have been a part of both teams—and to see the success and accomplishment of team members, who are still living the lifestyle changes.

Jim continued to lose weight on his own – during his first year, his weight loss was 148 pounds. Since the beginning of his journey, he lost 170 pounds—and has set his sights higher: he committed to becoming a triathlete, and training for the Ironman triathlon. Jim has run in many races since he made the commitment to the Ironman, but this year will be the most challenging yet—as he will do his Ironman triathlon in 2008.

Jim Terrell once weighed 450 pounds, had smoked for 33 years, and had other health challenges. At the Live It Up! Wrap-up session, Jim will share his story with you—the journey to his dream. He will help you put your personal "Live It Up! Action Plan" into place with great ideas from Lighten Up Wisconsin for making healthy lifestyle choices—ideas that inspired him to change, to get a dream, and to live his dream.

Live Healthy AmericaChange your choices. Change your life.

You lead a busy life. You have endless responsibilities—to family and friends, work and community. You may not feel like you have time for a healthy lifestyle. That's why Live Healthy America works. You don't have to change all at once or try to fit more in. Your lifestyle is a series of choices. Simply by changing the choices you make every day, you can change your life.

After lunch, Live It Up! Conference staff will help you put your personal "Live It Up! Action Plan" into place with more great ideas for making healthy lifestyle choices—sharing tips from Live Healthy America.

Live Healthy America is a team-based weight loss and physical activity program that will help you and your teammates make positive changes that lead to a healthier lifestyle—through increased physical activity and improved nutrition.
