Classes for College for Kids
Kindergarten
Krafts for Kids
(MTWTh)
Kids will bring home at
least 10 projects.
Students will be able to
work with paint,
weaving, beads, glitter and more! Some projects include
bookmarks, pens, necklaces, games, bead art, magnets
and a painting. Be sure to bring an old shirt for painting to
keep clothes clean.
Tell Me A Story (MTWTh)
Learn how to become an effective
storyteller by using props, puppets
and multimedia effects. We will look
at what makes a good story and how
to build it into something that lasts
forever! Be ready to be creative
and a masterful puppet maker.
Grades 1 & 2
Chemistry (MTWTh)
Observe, experiment and research! Separate liquid from
a solid, find out about the colors in ink, and grow a large
crystal. Recover water from a colored solution; study the
strange behavior of starch and water.
Creative Art (MTWTh)
Do you enjoy hands-on activities, being creative and having
fun? Join us for a week of exciting art workshops aimed at
releasing your inner Picasso! Let your imagination run wild
as you learn how to create paper mache, make homemade
jewelry, design clay pots, and more.
Grossology (MTWTh)
Sometimes science is really gross.
Have you ever wondered about slimy
boogers or stinky burps? Tooth decay
or spit? We will explore these and
other topics together. Join us for a truly
disgusting experience. (Only 12:30 p.m.)
Insects and Their Relatives (MTWTh)
Come and have some fun learning about the insects that
live around you. Bring some friends with you to enjoy
the adventure! Explore different habitats and see where
insects live. Weather permitting, every day we will be
outside collecting and examining what we catch. We will
identify all the insects we catch and create a collection!
Kids in the Kitchen (MTWTh)
Calling all friendly chefs! If you like to bake,
mix and explore in the kitchen, this is the
place for you! Students will learn to read
a recipe, measure and bake up a storm.
Taste-testing is also a must!
The Art of Ventriloquism (MTWTh)
Do you like to be the center of attention? Do you enjoy
making other people laugh? Do you know any funny
jokes? How would you like to put your sense of humor to
work with a dummy? This class will help you learn how to
do ventriloquism, which is the art of talking without moving
your lips. We will also make our own puppets, write skits
and put on a performance with our new talent.
Optional: If you have a puppet with a mouth that can open
and close, please bring it to the class.

Grades 3 & 4
Caves and Rivers
(counts as two classes, meets MTWTh)
Have an outdoor adventure! Discover how caves are
formed and why rivers are important. Then take a field
trip to explore a real cave, canoe down a river! $10 fee
includes canoe rental.
Cross the Great Wall of China (MT)
Students learn through a language lesson. Focus on
practical oral communication skills including greetings,
family members and names of foods. The program will
engage the learners to discover cross-culture differences
and some hands-on activities such as how to use
chopsticks, paper cuttings and more.
Exploring Color (MT)
This class will explore color using paints. The colors
created will be used to paint pictures and explore various
methods of paint application using a wide variety of
materials. Art principles will be explored and stressed in
our work.
Living the Pioneer Life (MT)
Ever wanted to see what it was like to live like a pioneer?
Learn how to make and eat delicious pioneer food, animal
pin cushions and a variety of
pioneer treasures. Play
pioneer games and
make toys that the
pioneer children
enjoyed playing with.
Rock Hounds (MT)
Become a Rock Hound through many hands-on activities.
Start a rock collection, create a mosaic with rock chips, see
how heat and pressure change crayons, find small fossils
and paint a plaster cast of a real shark tooth!
Scrapbooking Superstars (MT)
Bring your favorite photos of
family, friends, birthdays,
vacations, sports, holidays,
pets, etc. to create your very
own scrapbook pages.
Learn how to crop, mat and
mount photos, write about
your memories, and use fun paper, stickers, paper punches,
stencils and more!
Creative Lettering
(MT or WTh)
How would you like to be able
to use your own, personally
created lettering system on
cards, posters or other creative projects?
Well, this class will teach you the basics of
lettering and design, help you to experiment
with lettering styles, create your own personal lettering
system, and then use your lettering system to create
a beautifully designed greeting card. You will be the
calligrapher of your own creative lettering style!
“Livin' la Vida Loca” (MT or WTh)
¡Hola amigos! Come join the fun and learn a little about
Spanish culture along the way! Through games, artwork
and scavenger hunts, we will learn basic Spanish words
and take part in rich Spanish traditions such as piñata
painting and maraca making! Vamos! (Let's go!)
Art Going Green (WTh)
This will be an adventure
in art using recycled
materials. The emphasis
will be on creating with the
material found while observing
art principles of design, shape,
line, colors and process. We will create notecards and
paper, a weaving, three dimension object and collage.
Science in Our Food (WTh)
Our food is FULL of science. Learn why we eat, look at
the cells in our food, learn about the natural chemicals in
our food and prepare some food to eat. Bring your favorite
food (or picture of it) to the first class.
William Who?! Exploring the Art of
Shakespeare (WTh)
William Who?! Only the most famous writer in the entire
world. Explore the endless art of Shakespeare – his life
and times, while stepping into Shakespeare's "shoes"
through scenes and characters. Art, games, sword fighting,
mask making, and acting abound! Through William Who?!
you'll have the opportunity to know Shakespeare.
Xtreme Martial Arts (WTh)
XMA is a combination of techniques, movements and a
mixture of martial art styles. It is structured for beginners.
It is the cool moves students are watching on television,
the Internet and in movies. The goal is to take the skills the
students have and challenge them to do their best.
