Children's relationships with infant and preschool caregivers have long-term effects. This explanation lies in brain development and numerous studies have confirmed that the patterns of early attachment and core relationships shape the developing brain. By building positive relationships with all children that address the importance of prosocial behavior, self-regulation and partnerships with parents; challenging behaviors will decrease and all domains of development will be enhanced.
