Bio: I am a retired art teacher who taught for 30 years in Southwest Wisconsin. During my teaching career, helping children extend their inherent creativity was my art form. During summers, my yard was my canvas. Positioning the plantings of flowers around the natural rock formations became my works of art. Since retirement, I have begun painting still-lifes, landscapes, and animals that I have photographed. I have had three presentations of my paintings, at an art reception in our church, in Prairie du Chien. The paintings that were not not sold there are currently displayed at The Carriage House in Boscobel. I enjoy basket weaving using natural and colored reed that I dye myself. Learning to make quilts is my most recent crafts activity. Writing is another new passion. I joined a writer's when I was working on my first children's book called "Stay Away From the Horses!" It is a childhood misadventure for which I illustrated, wrote and did the graphics. It was published in June and is now going into it's second printing. I continue to write,striving to create a poem, short story or editorial prose weekly that can be shared with the other members.
