Bio: My watercolors are a mixture of reality and fantasy. The subject matter I often choose to paint includes ordinary everyday area scenes. To increase the viewer’s enjoyment and stimulate their imaginations, I frequently take liberties with the literal: exaggerating color for the sake of expression, choosing a different angle to achieve a fresh look, and accentuating light and shadow to infuse energy. To create visual drama from these “everyday” scenes I leave out extraneous detail and “push” color vibrancy and saturation to obtain maximum impact. I strive to connect with the viewer’s emotions creating a world where they can relax and re-energize.
