Bio: Trained as an abstract expressionist, I am interested in properties of scale, color, shape, light, and paint application. Feeling the need to be able to draw better I took many drawing classes until I was able to capture a realistic image on the paper. Currently I am concerned with balancing recognizable images that interest me with an expressionistic approach to the way light and color play on these subjects. I continue to be interested in a wide range of subjects painted on a large scale in order to express my feelings and observations about them. I continue to strive for a balance of realism and expressionism in my work.
