Bio: Jennie Crase works actively in acrylic, stoneware, and mixed media. Crase received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Monmouth College, where she also studied art history and feminism. After spending time in Chicago where she studied and worked with many contemporary women artists, she felt compelled to return to the open countryside where she has been trying to smash the idea that real artists only paint pretty little landscapes. Today, the ordinary woman must exist somewhere between the glory of Mary and the sins of Eve, the fashion conscious elite and the conservative soccer Mom, the perfect figured Barbie and the ruff-n-tumble tomboy who dares to play 'boy' sports. Women's voices are varied. Some are loud, some are hushed, and some are still searching for what it all means. Crase has exhibited in various locations. She is a member of the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association and Driftless Area Artists.
