INTERACTIVE COMPUTER KIOSK
Experience Chinese Culture through the Interactive Computer Kiosk.
The Confucius Institute at UW-Platteville introduces the interactive computer kiosks to school districts and libraries in Wisconsin. The culture programs were developed by the Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), the Headquarters of the Confucius Institute based in Beijing. Our Confucius Institute is part of an international network of over 700 Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms dedicated to enhancing the understanding of the Chinese language and culture around the world.
Our Kiosks have traveled to Darlington Elementary-Middle School, Darlington Johnson Public Library, Dodgeville Public Library, Beloit Public Library and Belmont Community School. We are very pleased that the Kiosks are being actively engaged by the students and community members.
Topics of the interactive programs include Kungfu and Calligraphy, Q and A with Ancient Chinese Thinkers, Chinese Characters, Ancient Chinese Science and Technology, The Art of Chinese Paper Cutting, Chinese Folk Music, Changing Cities of China, and Chinese Cuisine.
Confucius Classroom is a non‐profit institution with the purpose of enhancing understanding and friendship between the people of China and the Unites States by sponsoring courses of Chinese language and culture in primary, middle, and high schools. A Confucius Classroom is generally one school or several schools within an ISD (Independent School District) that may include one or more classrooms. The Confucius Classroom program aims to help ISDs and schools that are willing to start their Chinese language and culture program for their students and for schools that already have the Mandarin program and would like to have it further developed.
